The Indians said the injury was self-inflicted, and reports said he was hurt slamming a door as he returned to the Cleveland clubhouse. He was optioned to the minors on July 7, was placed in the Indians minor league disqualification list the following day and didnt pitch again that season. The union filed a grievance, and Hagadones service time will increase to 1 years, 127 days, under the agreement the team announced Tuesday.
