Moores layup and a 3-pointer by Johnson gave the Eagles a 5-0 lead before Nickens finally got Maryland on the board 4 1/2 minutes into the contest with a triple. Another Moore three pushed the Winthrop margin to 13-4 before the Terps finally started finding the range. A Dodd dunk and threes by Nickens and Pack fueled a 12-2 run that gave Maryland a 16-15 lead with just over nine minutes left in the half.
