his 11th home run of Antworten

For the first time in more than 60 years, the British Open is headed across the Irish Sea. The R&A announced Monday that golfs oldest championship will return to Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland for the first time since Max Faulkner won in 1951. That was the only time it was held outside Scotland or England since the Open began in 1860. "We have every confidence Royal Portrush will prove to be an excellent venue in every way," R&A chief executive Peter Dawson said. "There is passionate support in Northern Ireland and we expect there will be huge interest." Dawson said it was the "worst-kept secret," although one mystery remains -- the year. To bring the links course up to modern standards of a major championship, the R&A has recommended using the golf architecture firm Mackenzie & Ebert to create new 17th and 18th holes. Royal Portrush club members would have to sign off on the proposal, though that is likely to be a formality. The next available date is 2019. Dawson said it could be "a year or two longer than that." "It has been more than 60 years since the Open was played here, and its been too long," Dawson said. "And were very excited to be coming back." For years, there has been a quiet push to bring the Open back to Portrush and the movement picked up momentum with the success of three players from Northern Ireland. Graeme McDowell won the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Darren Clarke captured the British Open a year later at Royal St. Georges. Rory McIlroy won the U.S. Open in 2011 and then the PGA Championship in 2012. Throw in Padraig Harrington, and Irish golfers won seven of 22 majors during one stretch. What really caught Dawsons attention was when Royal Portrush staged a wildly successful Irish Open in 2012, which attracted some 130,000 fans for the week. And then Martin Ebert suggested the right changes to the links course to make it all work. More than just a golf course, the Open now requires room for such amenities as a television compound and a tented village. Dawson said the R&A would be investing several million pounds (dollars), without giving a more detailed estimate. "No Open venue is immune from the march of time," he said. "They all move and they all have to keep up. This isnt any different from that, except that it hasnt had an Open for a long time." Portrush also has held the Senior British Open six times, and is hosting the British Amateur this week. The British Open this year is being played at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake, which had gone 39 years until it returned to the rotation in 2006 with a popular win by Tiger Woods. Turnberry off the Ayrshire coast in Scotland went 17 years without an Open, despite a history that include the famous "Duel in the Sun" between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. That required work on the roads to alleviate traffic. Dawson said the work involved to get Royal Portrush in shape for an Open "is a little bit more." "That perhaps reflects the time gap," he said. "Its over 60 years since the championship has been here. The requirements of a modern championship are very different from what they were then. But its something thats manageable." Authentic NBA Jerseys . Jeter doubled high off the left-field wall and scored on Jacoby Ellsburys first hit in pinstripes in the fifth. Hiroki Kuroda (1-1) pitched 6 1-3 sharp innings in the Yankees 112th opener in New York. In what manager Joe Girardi said would be a season-long lovefest for Jeter, the shortstop was cheered every step of the way by an adoring crowd of 48, 142 -- even when his double-play grounder back to Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez (0-2) scored Solarte in the third inning for the first run. Nick Shaback Jersey Signed . His Brazilian opponents said he produced miracles. There is no doubt that Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was the one responsible for spoiling Brazils hopes of another World Cup victory at its home tournament. https://www.cheapnbajerseysjustwholesale...-jersey-signed/. Still, Encarnacion felt a sense of relief. He felt a pop just before crumpling to the ground after running out a groundball in the first inning of Saturdays game. It could have been worse. “Its going to take maybe two weeks,” said Encarnacion. “It depends how Im going to be and how Im going to be day after day, feeling better or not. Cedric Ball Jersey Signed . Some will say that Martin is too sensitive while others will say that it is part of the way football is in the locker room. But to have to absorb what was said to him for any rational and intelligent person is too much. Khris Middleton Jersey Signed . -- The Sacramento Kings have signed first-round pick Nik Stauskas to his rookie contract.DENVER -- Michael Cuddyer homered to extend his hitting streak to 25 games, Jhoulys Chacin pitched eight scoreless innings and the Colorado Rockies beat the slumping San Francisco Giants 4-1 on Friday night. Wilin Rosario also went deep and Jordan Pacheco had three hits for the Rockies, who moved within three games of Arizona in the NL West. Buster Posey homered among his three hits for the Giants, who have lost five straight and seven of their last eight. Cuddyers streak is the longest in the majors this season and extended his franchise record. He has reached base safely in 44 straight games, also a club record. Cuddyer flied out to left in the first inning before connecting in the third. He worked the count to 2-0 before lacing a 79 mph cut fastball just over the scoreboard in right to give the Rockies a 3-0 lead. Rosario followed with a blast to left to make it 4-0. Chacin (7-3) made it stand up and earned his fourth straight win with another standout performance. The right-hander has emerged as Colorados best pitcher in June. He came within an out of a shutout against Philadelphia on June 16 and threw seven scoreless innings in a win over Washington last week. He has thrown 15 straight scoreless innings and has allowed just two runs in his last 27 innings. He was sharp again Friday, scattering three hits and walking three to help the Rockies snap a three-game skid. He retired 10 in a row after the Giants had first and second with one out in the fourth, then got Brandon Crawford to ground out with two on to end the seventh inniing.dddddddddddd Giants starter Barry Zito (4-6) allowed four runs and 10 hits while striking out three in 5 1-3 innings. The veteran left-hander is 0-3 in his last five starts. His last win came against Oakland on May 30 and he is 0-5 in six road starts this season. The defending champions have struggled to score runs during their slide. San Francisco has managed just 17 runs in its last seven games and just avoided being shut out for the seventh time this season. The Rockies took a 1-0 lead in the first on Carlos Gonzalezs RBI double. Two innings later, Pacheco led off with a single and Cuddyer followed with his 14th home run of the season. Two pitches later, Rosario hits his 13th. Posey led off the ninth with his 11th home run of the year off Rex Brothers to spoil the shutout. It was the first run Brothers allowed in 32 appearances spanning 30 innings. The Giants got the tying run to the plate but Crawford grounded out to second to end the game. NOTES: Colorado OF Dexter Fowler (right hand) was a late scratch from the lineup. Fowler has missed the last two games and three of the last four. ... The Rockies activated closer Rafael Betancourt from the 15-day DL and optioned RHP Juan Nicasio to Triple-A Colorado Springs. ... The Giants reinstated LHP Eric Surkamp from the 60-day DL and optioned him to Triple-A Fresno. He will be added to the roster when he reports on Monday, when he will make a start, the team said. ...
